Introduction

Opuntia species of the western USA make excellent garden plants. The various species are often cold-hardy and have beautiful flowers during the Spring bloom. At other times the evergreen foliage provides garden contrast. 

The Details

Opuntia ‘Tahiti Sunrise’ is a garden plant created by a cross between O. phaeacantha and O. engelmannii. ‘Tahiti Sunrise’ is a cactus with large pads and exotic, large tangerine-orange flowers. The curly blonde stamens and the green stigma combine well with the spines. It is hardy into USDA climate zone 5.
